The moon had just crested the mountain peak when the figure of shadow appeared. Alone and cloaked in darkness the shadowy figure strode across the open ground until it came to a plain. One the desolate plain where life had once existed stood the sun of shadow, Matrix. He stood infron of a single marble stone layed on the ground, surrounded by the scarred black earth that had been burnt several years early and directly benith the stone, in the smae place her untouched body had been found lay Annabella Avalanch. Matrix stood before the stone and began to unwrap his had. The wind shifted through his being, as if recognizing an old friend. How long has it been, He wondered, since I stood in this mountains shadow? Matrix stood alone, in the middle of unwrapping his had when he felt something or sone one near him. How did you find this place? He asked who ever was behind him, Matrix cared naught to turn and face the being who ever it was, he just wondered if they'd speak, or if they weren't even real.

"Just passing through." A young female's voice replied casually. Artemis had decided to go for a walk, to go anywhere but the busy city where she previously resided. Standing in front of the moon her body was a mere silhouette against the deep, beautiful, darkness. Her shoes had been turned black while treading on this burnt landscape. A single, cool, breeze blew her long hair to one side and it rested on her left shoulder.
Artemis could tell that this boy was slightly depressed by his body signals, the slightly drooping shoulders, and the position of his head which told her that he was deep in thought. She couldn't quite tell if she knew this boy, he seemed familiar which made her curiosity stronger. It was already strong from his previous sentence of "How did you find this place?" as if he were the protector of this burnt, dirty area.
((Was this supposed to be after we left Austrialia? Cuz if so then take out the 'busy city' part. o.o))

((no, that's fine.)) He turned his head slightly to look at the girl he'd spoken to, she wasn't much younger than him, and he knew she was on the same team as him, but he continued to unwrap his hand until the cold air stung the raw flesh. "A likely stroy Artemis," he sighed and held his hand over the marble stone the body of his mother lay under.

"Whatcha doin', Matrix?" she asked in a rather childish voice. More than normal, usually she'd be a smart alec to everyone but it was different with him. He was much stronger than her in many ways and she knew he could kill her without regret if she pissed him off. She wouldn't dare to come any closer unless instructed to by him so she just stood there and rocked back and fourth on her heels waiting for an awnser.

I haven't seen my mother in years, I just want to see her again. He said. Using his free hand to wave Artemis foreward. He held his pale hand over the marble stone, the X that was branded into his skin was darker than shadow, and the skin around it was a raw and angry red. You aren't branded are you Artemis? He asked, keeping his eyes on the stone infront of him.

She walked over to him but still staying slightly behind and watching over his shoulder. "No. The humans couldn't hold onto me long enough to." While watching him she began to wonder if he was able to bring back the dead How is he going to see her again if she died a year ago? she wondered.

You got luckey. Soloara's healed, but mine never did, that's why I hide it. Over the seventeen years i've had it i've built up a great tollerence to pain. Matix's eye's went out of focus for a moment and infront of the two vampires appeared a lady mad of mist, she was beautifl with long silver hair, but she was clearly a ghost. She stood before the marble stone, as if unable to move far from it's boundry. The tips of Matrix's fingers began to glow green, as did the palm of his hand as the magic began to work. Mom Matrix whispered, his eyes still slightly misted over.

"M..Matrix, what are you doing?" She grabbed his hand slightly not even noticing the almost transparent figure before her. Her eyes were never removed from Matrix's hand and she began to worry from the looks of his eyes. "Matrix, your mother is dead she can't.." just before she could finish she looked up to see the figure infront of her. She nearly fainted. Was this really Matrix's mother, a ghost quite visible by her living eyes?

Quiet Artemis Matrix snapped, his eyes still foged as he concentrated on the magic. Suddenly his hand cringed and he quickly grabbed his wrist with his free hand, grabbing it as it withered in pain. Mother, if i could I'd kill them all again. He whispered as he watched the pale figure smile widely . It had been two years since he had seen her face, and slowly she began to fade. Her smile bright. No! Wait, don't go mother. Matrix pleaded, knowing that she wouldn't come back, not unless he did it again but he knew his body couldn't handle that level of magic yet.

Artemis quieted herself somewhat out of confusion but more from Matrix's command. She had never seen him this way, he who killed without regret, had another side. Becoming even more worried with his current condition she asked "M..Matrix, are you alright? What's going on?". Her eyes were still set, unwavering, on the ghostly figure in case she were to do somthing to hurt either of them but her ears and other sences were directed twords Matrix. She was awed at this magic which she never even thought could exist so she watched and hoped for an awnser from him.

Clutching his hand, Matrix grimaced as the figure of his mother drifted away and disappeared. Artemis, I hate every human I have ever encountered, this mark limits how much magic and can use, and that spell is very advanced. This thing limits my power. I 'm gunna find a way to remove it, if it only means being able to see her again.

"How did you...where did you...?" She couldn't think, or finish whatever it was that she was going to say. Probably somthing along the lines of 'Where did you learn the spell?' or 'How in the world would you remove it?'. She didn't want to say anything of her own thoughts about no being able to bring back the dead so she changed the question to what matterd more physically "Are you alright?"

Yeah He murmered before watching the figure of his mother melt into dust. He knew what Artemis was trying to ask, and being so young didn't help her with words. He shook his head rewraped the bandage around his right hand,a soothing pain shot through his body, ever reminding him he was still alive. I learned the spell and long time ago, with a friend. She wanted to bring her brother back to life and I thought it was a way to bring my mom back. It'll take time before I'm able to. He looked up at the sky, the moon shining with all it's might. This place used to be home, where we're standing now. When I was younger I cast the spell that will force the gound to be scarred and burned forever. I regret that now.

Artemis looked around at the black surroundings wondering what he meant about him casting the spell that gave this place the eerie glow of darkness it possessed. "The spell, did it work for your friend? I mean bringing back her brother and all?" she questioned curiously. She bit her bottom lip, not hard enough to draw blood but to keep herself from asking or saying something stupid.

She never got the chance to try. She returned to her brother's grave and foud that it had never existed. The town people had burned his body shortly after she disappeared. There is no one to burn my mothers body, I killed them all. He recalled, remembering the pain and rage on her face and the taste of blood on her lips(yes hers). Their falling out had ended shortly after that and Matrix didn't know why.
